Twenty eight years ago, we were right there with you.
A few guys were stuck in dead end jobs, unsuccessful relationships and the occasional high of a sports team win.
Life was bland.
We loved to fish. But found it challenging to get out and chuck feathers.
A lot of it came down to TIME. We never seemed to have enough of it.
We couldn’t get our laundry done, let alone plan a trip to get away. Part of it was that we always went to the same fishing spots, so there was no new excitement in the water we fished.
Another part of it was that we forgot how much Mother Nature lit us up.
But something deep down called out to us…
Then one day, Guys Fishing Weekend was born.
A couple of guys, looking for adventure and some laughs set out for the hills. A new tradition.
So how did we get here? How did you get here?
There is that “time” issue after all.
That’s why we packaged up everything we’ve learned in doing our Guys Fishing Weekend, or “GFW” as we affectionately call it, so you can go create this tradition in your own life.

You probably want to know more about why we even started this trip in the first place.
We were exactly like you when we started our first fishing trip.
We craved something more from life. We were staring at mountains that we didn’t have the courage to enter. They can be intimidating if you have never experienced their riches.
Driving through them is one thing, but actually walking their trails, splashing in their rivers and catching fish is another.
We didn’t know where to start, but knew that working two jobs to experience life ‘someday’ was no way to live.
So the idea lit a match. “How can we get the fishing lodge experience on a budget?”
We gathered a grand total of one other friend and set off as a motley crew of 3, looking for adventure.
Our first trip would leave you saying “why did you even do this?” We caught one fish. One. And it was no bigger than 10 inches.
“So why did you come back?”
Because we saw a spark of importance in those three days.
Three days of being a kid again. Exploring the world with our buddies. Creating memories, bonds and stories that would make you blush. So we only tell the PG-13 ones.
Boys will be boys, am I right?
And so we kept coming back. Looking for a laugh. Looking for an ear to listen. And ultimately looking for a way to lift up our fellow man.
This is a community. A community of people looking to go fishing and lift each other up.
We kept coming back because we needed the community we were building. It helped us be better!
